FACULTY - Tenure Track
Children’s Memorial Research Center (CMRC)/Children’s Memorial Hospital and the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University seek outstanding candidates for a full-time mid-career tenure track faculty position in the Mary Ann and J. Milburn Smith Child Health Research Program (see www.childrensmrc.org/childhealthresearch). This is an interdisciplinary program that integrates clinical and population research, with an emphasis on multi-level research that includes biomarkers and environmental measures. This new position offers outstanding scholarly and scientific resources in a collegial and collaborative clinical and research environment. High quality office and dry lab facilities and excellent start-up support will be provided; limited wet lab space is also available.
Candidates should have a PhD and/or MD degree and exceptional research potential in one or more areas, including childhood obesity and the metabolic syndrome. Other areas of interest that are particularly welcome are perinatal epidemiology, allergy, molecular/genetic epidemiology; and bioinformatics. The person who fills this position will lead innovative independent research, collaborate with program colleagues, and mentor junior investigators. Physician-scientists should plan to spend at least 70% of their time on research. Competitive candidates will have a strong track record of NIH funding. Academic rank and salary are negotiable.
