To participate in clinical research involving an investigational medication for schizophrenia
Principal Investigator: Kathleen McKenna, MD
Children’s Memorial Hospital
- Males or females, ages 13-17 years old
- Diagnosed with Schizophrenia or displaying symptoms such as
- Hearing voices
- Bizarre thoughts or ideas
- Feeling confused or having trouble concentrating
- Withdrawing socially
- Feeling that people are “out to get them”
- No significant medical illness, including seizure disorders
- No history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome
- A responsible person must be available to accompany the adolescent to all visits, provide information and dispense study medication
- Close monitoring of study medication safety and efficacy
- Hospitalization, comprehensive physical and psychiatric examinations, laboratory procedures, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and study medication at no charge
