Craniofacial abnormalities pose an enormous burden to the individual, their families and the health care system as a whole. My research focuses on the role of the noncanonical Wnt pathway in controlling the behaviour of zebrafish craniofacial cartilage morphogenesis. By utilizing zebrafish as a model to determine how normal cartilage forms we can gain insight into the potential cause of many craniofacial defects.
